Important upcoming dates:

1. July 1, 2025: Town Meeting to adjourn to Referendum

2.  July 8, 2025 ( tentative date) to have a referendum   

Absentee Ballots will be available July 2, 2025

You will need to fill out an application with the Town Clerk's office to receive your ballot.

Please make sure you are currently registered to vote and bring your I.D with you

 

 

 

Please be advised there will be an increase with Land Recordings starting on July 1,2025.

Connecticut Fees for Recording

a Land Record Document

Per PA 25 - 168

Recording Document: (excluding any document with a Nominee)

$ 70.00 for the first page and  $5.00 for each additional page.

 

Recording Nominee Documents:

$160.00 flat fee for Assignments and Releases of Mortgage where the Nominee is the Grantor

$160.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page for all

documents except Nominee as Grantor of Assignments and Releases.

Please note that the new fees must be paid for any document received by the Town Clerks on or after July 1, 2025.

Services Offering

The Town Clerk’s Office has a public computer available for Land Record searches. There is a computer index with images that may be searched by Grantor/Grantee from 1981 forward and by Volume/Page as far back as 1919. You may also search the land record index remotely through Record Hub. Instructions for use are available here.

  • Land Recordings, Trade Names and Name Changes made be submitted via mail, drop box or in-person. 
  • Marriage Licenses are issued by appointment only. Please call to schedule. 860-487-3121.
  • Vital record requests (copies) via mail, drop-box or in-person.  *Please note we accept cash or check, payable to Town of Willington.   *Personal Checks are allowed. 
  • Dog licensing via mail, drop box or in-person. 
  • Notary Services & Notary Registration 
  • Sport Licenses 
  • Liquor Permit filings 

The Town Clerk can assist you with the following items:

Vital Record Copies: CGS Sec. § 7-74

Certified Copies: CGS Sec. § 7-34a

  • $2.00 (+ $1 each page being certified)

*Effective July 1, 2022:  There will be a $5 charge per page/signature for Notary services

Sport Licenses: CGS §§ 26-29, 26-29a, 26-19b

  • Licenses issued to any blind, mentally disabled or physically disabled person shall be a lifetime license.

The Willington Town Clerk’s Office no longer processes Passport Applications due to new Federal Regulations. Please refer to the  Storrs Post Office to process them
