Animal Unit Regulation Changes

The Planning and Zoning Commission is looking to solicit feedback from the Community to better understand how the residents of Willington feel about the current Zoning Regulations that govern animal husbandry, in particular the keeping of backyard hens.

The Commission is considering adopting changes to the Regulations to allow any property with 40,000SF (just under one acre) or more to keep up to eight hens on their property, subject to specific conditions. This would reduce the current requirement of 80,000 or roughly two acres.

We have created a very brief webform for members of the public to submit their thoughts, which will be reviewed by the Commission. We welcome your feedback, please follow the link below!
