New Bocce Court at the RRAC

Willington Parks and Recreation wants to give a HUGE thank you to Michael Pippin and Troop 82 for installing a Bocce Ball court at the River Road Athletic Complex! The process began on July 10th, when Michael pitched his idea to Willington’s Parks and Recreation Commission. After receiving the go ahead, Michael began planning out the project timeline, while also gaining valuable real-world experience with budgeting, zoning, and project planning. On September 23rd, Michael and Troop 82 arrived at the RRAC and got to work with digging, shoveling, and raking the area where the court has been installed. The scouts were assisted on a cold, rainy day by a number of volunteers, including Michael’s family and Scoutmaster Ken Fluet. WPRD would also like to give John Patton a huge thank you for donating the materials used for filling the court.
